So, I am going to print out one of my fractals for my parents for the holidays, one they have been begging to get done for a while now. I want to get it printed, gallery wrap, at 48" x 36". Problem is, I clearly have to rerender the flame before trying to print it at that size. I want to be able to print it at 300dpi, so I figure have it rendered at 14,400 x 10,800. But I am unsure of what to use for the other render settings for something this large:
My standard renders for dA are rendered at 1920x1200 with the following settings:
quality: 20,000
filter radius: 0.8
oversample: 2
48-bit buffer depth
Ideally, I want to render as large as my system can go, and that is about 20,000x 13,333 with oversampling at 1 and a quality of 50,000. I am really unsure though of what to set the filter radius at, as I know it needs to increase as the render size increases. I have never rendered something this large before, so I do not know, and I dont want to let it render for a week for it to not look nice. Anyone who is familiar with ultra high res fractal rendering... your advice would be greatly appreciated.
